Is the Taiwan Gold Card realistic for Hongkongers?▾
Yes for skilled professionals. Taiwan’s Gold Card is a 4-in-1 combined resident visa, work permit, residence certificate, and re-entry permit. HK/Macau residents get a special fee of NT$3,100 (significantly lower than standard). The card is valid 1–3 years, offers a 50% tax deduction for 3 years, and pathway to PR after 3 years. Eligibility runs across 12 professional fields defined by the Act for the Recruitment & Employment of Foreign Professional Talent.
