All Stamford American students will graduate with a U.S. accredited High School Diploma, inclusive of two graduating pathways: the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or an individualized pathway resulting in graduating with the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Diploma, or a High School Diploma with IB, Advanced Placement (AP), BTEC or Stamford course credits accredited. We are proud to announce Stamford American's 2024 graduates have achieved fantastic IB results with a pass rate of 96% on the IB exams and an average score of 34.6, surpassing the world average of 30.2. 20% of our AP candidates also excelled in AP results with an average of 3.5 across all AP exams taken.

Stamford American offers a Bilingual Program for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5. Our unique one-teacher bilingual model allows the same teacher to conduct classes in both English and Mandarin, ensuring a seamless learning experience and enabling deeper exploration of content in both languages. Additionally, our Early Years and Elementary School students enjoy daily Mandarin or Spanish lessons, while our Middle and High School students benefit from intensive 80-minute IB Language and Literature programs in Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean from Grades 6 to 12. Stamford American also provides an after-school home language program, supported by our international community of parents and professionals.

We offer additional academic support through weekly small-group sessions led by classroom teachers, designed to help students strengthen their mastery of subject areas. Additionally, we provide counseling, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy for students who may require extra assistance. The needs of eligible students are assessed individually, and parents are encouraged to discuss their child’s situation with the Admissions Office before submitting an application for enrollment.

Yes. The Student Support Department at Stamford American offers a helping hand to all students in managing any academic, emotional, physical or developmental challenges. Through a Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)/Response to Intervention (RTI) approach, we seek to identify learning, behavioral, and social emotional needs early. We then work towards offering the appropriate support services to our students through our team of counselors, therapists and teachers. The needs of eligible students will be assessed on an individual basis and parents may discuss their situation with the Admissions Office prior to making an application for enrollment.

Yes, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program is designed to support non-native English-speaking students in developing their English proficiency and integrating into mainstream classes. EAL students are guided by highly qualified homeroom and subject teachers, as well as dedicated English language specialists. Each EAL student is paired with at least one EAL teacher who provides ongoing support throughout the year, helping them work toward independence in English. We offer tailored support to each EAL student, addressing their unique academic, social, and emotional needs. The level of assistance provided initially depends on the student’s English proficiency.

8.30am – School finish times range from 12:10PM for half-day at our Early Learning Village to 3.45 pm for Grades 6 to 12.
