NAPLAN examinations commence in Elementary, benchmarking reading, writing, spelling and numeracy ability to Australian standards. Year 9 and 10 students study and are examined in the Cambridge IGCSE examinations and students in Year 12 students graduate with either the Australian Higher School Certificate or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, recognised by leading universities worldwide.

AIS students celebrated outstanding academic results in 2021, with 100% of our AIS students passing. 2 of our students secured perfect scores and above 43 for these other higher achievers. 36 of our students sat for the HSC in 2021 averaging an impressive 78.5 Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR).

We offer Daily Mandarin for 2-11 year olds, followed by a choice of Mandarin, Spanish, French or Indonesian in Secondary. We also offer a comprehensive Mother Tongue program in Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, French, Indonesian and any language requested.

In collaboration with class teachers and specialist staff, the Learning Enrichment Department offer a continuum of services to support positive learning outcomes for all students. The use of this flexible learning and teaching model, allows for the provision of support in accordance with currently identified student needs. As part of this program, we offer a structured Toe By Toe program designed to help readers who struggle to decode or those with dyslexic difficulties.

AIS offers a Learning Support Program for students who require support for learning differences. The needs of eligible students will be assessed on an individual basis and parents should discuss their situation with the Admissions Office prior to making an application for enrolment.

Yes, AIS welcomes students whose first language is not English. We offer the Intensive English Program that caters for the level of English on application and develops the ability and confidence to communicate effectively. AIS also offers The (AIS) Preparation Course which is an intensive Semester long academic English program that prepares students for academic studies and is designed for students in Year 7 and 8 and Year 9.

Our school has two student canteens and a made-to-order sandwich cafe with a menu and food program that is supported by targeted nutritional planning.
