Questions to ask the school
- Can you support a child with my child's specific need (e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, autism), and have you done so this year? Ask for concrete examples.
- Is there an additional fee for learning support or EAL — and how much per year?
- Is learning support guaranteed for the full enrolment, or can it be withdrawn later?

AIS Indonesia was founded as an inclusive school. We provide specialist support to meet the individual needs of our students We recognise that every student learns differently and learning programs should be flexible and tailored to individual needs. Our trained staff in Support Services provide specialist assistance to students requiring support in the following areas: English as an Additional Language (EAL) Learning Difficulties Physical Disabilities Counselling Careers & Future Education Prior to enrolment, some students are assessed to determine their need for specialised support and the extent of that support. The Support Services team works collaboratively with teachers and parents to provide an inclusive support network that allows students to learn within the mainstream when appropriate, with special arrangements that focus on the growth of the individual and promote attitudes of self-worth and achievement. Inclusion is the key to our special needs program at AIS, where students can access mainstream classes and participate in the wide range of curriculum options where appropriate. Each student’s needs are assessed and Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) are implemented. For students requiring teaching and support in smaller class environments, the Student Services Centre (SSC) is offered. Our Support Services staff work at all year levels throughout the school to help cater for students’ individual needs. Students needing extra help can be identified by self-referral, parent referral, teacher referral, testing or academic performance. To ensure students receive the support they need, we monitor each student’s progress regularly, in consultation with classroom teachers and coordinators.
