IGCSE and IB Diploma
Our students complete external examinations at the end of Year 11 for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and at the end of Year 13 for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
YCIS Beijing students maintain a 100% IGCSE and IBDP pass rate. Their results are already higher than the world average. Every year, the majority of our graduates achieves a bilingual diploma. Chinese (Mandarin) is a compulsory course in Primary and Secondary School. The School’s Language Programmes are the strongest in Beijing and YCIS is very well known for it. Every year, the majority of our graduates achieves a bilingual IB diploma
Learning Support works with students who need support in academic, vocational, and general well-being. These students may also need support in the areas of cognitive learning, communication, and interaction with others. We are able to offer this as a whole-school initiative or in small groups, supporting the teacher in the classroom and in 1:1 support sessions.
The school offers counselling, university guidance and pastoral care. Our Student Support Services Department is also able to provide some support for literacy skills (in Chinese and English) and individual learning needs (support and enhancement).

Yes. We have a wide-ranging and daily-changing menu of healthy, balanced food provided by leading specialist caterers Chartwells. Chartwells caters for more than 50 schools in China and in over 50 countries worldwide. Their weekly menu is reviewed by a nutritionist to ensure that meals are well-balanced and contain necessary carbohydrates, proteins, fibres and vitamins. They have a rigorous commitment to food health and hygiene, and never cook with nuts, nut oils, MSG, artificial flavourings or colourings. You can view one of Chartwell’s sample menus here. Students are also welcome to bring their own lunch – and heat it up in the cafeteria if they wish.
