Bateen World Academy opened in September 2011 to provide students with high quality education from the ages of 11 to 18. We are an IB school offering the IBPYP in primary school FS1 - Year 6, an adapted English National Curriculum in secondary school Years 7 - 11 and the IBDP, IBCP and BTEC in Years 12 and 13.

These outstanding outcomes firmly position the school as a leading provider of academic excellence, where every student is empowered to achieve their full potential. BWA Performance on International benchmark assessments further underscores its academic strength. 2022 PISA Assessment - 15 year old students significantly outperformed global averages. PISA mathematics proficiency score was 536. This is significantly above the international average of 472 and the UAE average of 431. PISA English proficiency score was 530. This is significantly above the international average of 476 and the UAE average of 417. PISA Science proficiency score was 533. This is significantly above the international average of 485 and the UAE average of 432. PISA results matter because they measure how well students can use their learning in real-life contexts, and our strong performance reflects a curriculum that prepares students for success beyond school. TIMSS 2023 Assessment - Showed excellence in with year 9 students achieving well above international and UAE averages in both Maths and English. PIRLS 2021 Result - Year 5 students achieved 562, placing them in the high international benchmark range. Strong PIRLS results highlight the school’s success in developing confident, capable readers, demonstrating that students have the comprehension skills needed to access learning across the curriculum and thrive in a global educational context.
